I created and did look development for an Ice shader for in-game Creatures (Illuvials) and Drone Characters in Unreal Engine.
We needed a stylized ice effect on parts of the model yet maintaining minimal material slots on the mesh. The shader uses a mask to introduce the ice effect on only specific parts of the UV, so only one texture slot is required. some features of the Ice shading includes SSS, Parallax effects and PBR maps support.
